It looks as if we [including my friends...:-)] jus now entered the gates of SRM UNIVERSITY with completely no idea about whats awiting us inside. but 4 months have jus flown by like a breeze. i could still remember the first day of college (17th Aug 2009) when i came out of potheri railway station and entered the campus's main gate all alone. as i had mentioned in my previous posts friendship can bloom anywhere. i got a new friend that day right at the entrance of the college. like me, he too was a fresher and had completely no idea of what we should be doing.
then the three day orientation programme followed by the campus tour on the last day brought us a bit closer to campus life. the first day when b.tech classes begun was also full of surprises. the first surprise was that there was only one girl and rest was fully boys in a class containing 70. the classes were well maintained and furnished and i thought as if i had entered some mini auditorium by mistake, but those sitting inside confirmed that i had come to the right place.
Inside the campus you would actually feel like you have got lost in your own home.though the whole campus was filled with north indians and plenty of new faces, right from that day i began to make many friends. things really started to smoothen only when the classes started and the teachers began with their portions. then onward everything began to come close right from teachers to canteen food (ha ha...you cant forget that samosa for 6.rs which i used to get for my friends).
"when you have friends around, you will never know days passing by" this quote became very much true in my case. starting from karthik, irfan, sarath, abishake, sundar, umar, aravind and one of my new yet cute friend ramla....the list goes on. even though we had many pre announced surprise tests(highlight of our college) and cycle tests ,attending college had never been a head ache until this came. yes, our model exams.
our model exam marked the end of first semester and our lives. yes guys i mean it. we were literally asked to read and write one entire book within half a day time. the most cruel part is that immediatly after writing one exam you must prepare to write another exam the next day. but we knew we could study only a limited portions,we did that and wrote them to our satisfaction.
but what really pushed me to write this blog was the photo session which we had on the last working day of sem 1 with nithu sir(Dr. Nithyanandham).even though we all are gonna study together for the next sem also, the 2 weeks study holidays made us think as if we are not gonna see each other for the rest of our lives. next week im gonna write my semester exams with these ever green thoughts.
at last, the college went exactly the way i wished and wanted it to be right from my school time. unlike other anna university colleges we were not forced to do anything,we were not given hefty assignments, we were not tortured with tests every week. freedom was round the corner every moment. i realised it and used it in a judicious way. at this point of time i remember another qoute which my father often used to say to me and i would also like to end this post with that.
TODAYS PICK OF THE QUOTES :
"when freedom increases so does your responsibilities...
that freedom should not make you forget your duties but should help you accomplish it in your own style"
Tschüss...
